India to host Iranian ‘Zero Floor’

Chennai International Film Festival is slated to host ‘Zero Floor’.

The movie directed by Ebrahim Ebrahimian will be screened at the 17th edition of the Indian event.

Ebrahim Ebrahimian’s third directorial experience has been welcomed by the audience.

A brief synopsis for the film reads, “Vahid learns that his wife has taken their son to Tehran for a heart surgery. He and his brother Saeed rush to the capital after her and that is the beginning of a complicated crisis for the family”.

Saeed Aqakhni, Parivash Nazariyeh, Banipal Shomon and Hamidreza Azarang are other names who have appeared in the movie.

The CIFF is a festival aims at providing a common platform for the film fraternity to show its expression through films; understanding other cultures and project the excellence of this art form; contribute to the understanding and appreciation of film cultures of the different nations in the context of the social and cultural ethos; and promote friendship and co-operation among peoples of the world.

Launched in 2002, it showcases international as well as Indian feature films. The festival screens more than 100 international feature films.

The 17th edition of the CIFF has been slated for December 12-19, 2019.
